Day 5 of 7
Day 5: Wisdom for the Step Before You
Rooted in Love: A 7-Day Journey of Faith, Wisdom, and Obedience
Anchor Scriptures
Proverbs 2:6 (NKJV)
For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
James 1:5 (NKJV)
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Devotional Reading
You may wish you could see the whole path before making a decision. The questions ahead can seem larger than the understanding you have today. God invites you to ask for wisdom without treating your need as a failure. His generosity gives you reason to seek Him with confidence.
Seeking wisdom as treasure involves giving His Word your attention and becoming willing to respond. Understanding often becomes useful through the next choice before you, rather than a complete picture of the coming year. Jesus patiently prepared His disciples even while their understanding was still growing. You can remain teachable and take today's faithful step while trusting God for further direction.
Today's Confession
God gives wisdom generously, and I ask Him in faith. My ears are attentive to His Word, and my heart is willing to receive understanding. I do not need to see the whole journey before obeying the next instruction. I seek His wisdom and act on what He makes clear.
5-Minute Journal Prompt
What decision needs your attention today, and what part of the next faithful step is already clear to you?
Prayer Activation Exercise
Read Proverbs 2:1-6 and ask God for wisdom concerning one decision. Write down what the passage helps you recognize about seeking and receiving His direction. Respond to any clear responsibility before asking Him to show you the steps beyond it.
