Keeping Our Eyes on God and Growing Strong in Faith

October 31, 2026

God teaches us to remain steady by keeping our minds on Him, drawing near in worship, and trusting His promises. As we yield to His lordship, we grow strong in faith and become better prepared to serve, intercede, and steward our responsibilities.

When life feels unsettled, where does our attention go? God invites us to keep our eyes on Him. As Abraham learned, faith grows by giving Him glory even while we wait. That trust strengthens our fellowship, prayer, obedience, and care for our communities.

Learning to Keep Our Minds on God

Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Our peace is closely connected to where we place our attention. When concerns begin to consume our thoughts, we can return our focus to Jesus, remember His promises, and thank Him for His faithfulness. Circumstances may remain unchanged, but our hearts can become steady as we trust Him.

1 Chronicles 16:11 (KJV)

Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

Seeking God’s strength begins with seeking Him. Through daily fellowship and prayer, we learn to release our burdens and draw upon His wisdom. Quieter moments prepare us to remain steady when challenges arise.

Growing Strong in Faith by Giving God Glory

Romans 4:20–21 (KJV)

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Abraham grew strong in faith by giving glory to God while waiting for His promise. His journey included questions, mistakes, and correction, reminding us that confidence develops over time. Rather than becoming consumed with how God might answer, we can worship Him, remember His faithfulness, and trust what He has actually promised.

Have we become so occupied with how God might answer that we have lost sight of the One we are trusting?

Return your attention to the Lord throughout the day, and give Him glory while you wait.

Yielding Every Area to the Lordship of Jesus

Even with years of spiritual experience, we still need a teachable heart. Jesus’ lordship reaches into our daily routines, conversations, decisions, and relationships. Are there areas we have stopped bringing before Him because we assume we already know what to do?

James 4:8 (KJV)

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Drawing near to God includes repentance, surrender, and a willingness to receive correction. As we yield familiar areas of life to Him, we become more attentive to Holy Spirit’s leading and better prepared to serve others.

Bring the Lord the area you have been managing by habit. Give Him time and a willingness to be taught.

Strengthening One Another in Prayer

Faithful intercession requires perseverance, but we were never meant to carry every burden alone. Encouragement, practical assistance, and praying in agreement help strengthen those who grow weary.

Our prayers for others and for the nation should also begin with humility. Daniel 9 reminds us to seek God’s mercy while allowing Him to examine our own hearts. Before asking Him to correct what is wrong around us, are we willing to let Him correct what needs to change within us?

Letting Faith Shape Our Public Responsibilities

The faith that steadies our hearts should also guide how we serve our communities. Jeremiah 29:7 reminds us to seek the peace and well-being of the places where we live. We can pray for leaders to govern with wisdom, integrity, and justice while remaining faithful to our own responsibilities.

As we intercede for America and Israel, we can pray for:

  • Truth, justice, and honest elections.
  • Leaders who demonstrate integrity and resist corruption.
  • Peace and protection for our communities.
  • Mercy, spiritual renewal, and wisdom for those in authority.

Prayer and responsible action belong together. Those eligible to vote can study their ballots, seek reliable information, and make thoughtful decisions. Our responsibility continues beyond Election Day as we pray for leaders and seek the good of our communities.

Closing Exhortation

Keeping our eyes on God begins in ordinary moments, not just during difficult seasons. Like Abraham, we grow stronger as we give God glory and trust His faithfulness. Let that growing confidence shape our prayers, relationships, decisions, and responsibilities. Whatever lies ahead, remain attentive to Holy Spirit and ready for the next step of obedience.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. Forgive us for allowing fear, distraction, or compromise to shape our responses. Teach us to keep our eyes on You, grow strong in faith, and give You glory in every season.

Holy Spirit, guide our prayers and decisions. Strengthen those who are weary, lead us in obedience, and help us serve others with love. We pray for wisdom, righteousness, mercy, and peace in our communities, America, and Israel. Keep our hearts attentive to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
