Day 2 of 7
Day 2: Your Choices Touch the Family
Shuttering the Past: A 7-Day Journey Forward in the Father's Love
Anchor Scriptures
1 Corinthians 12:26-27 (KJV)
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Devotional Reading
Your walk with God belongs within His family. As a member of Christ's body, your words, decisions, and responses can affect people around you. This gives ordinary choices a meaningful place in the life of the group. Patience, honesty, and kindness help you care for those who share your fellowship in Christ.
Moving forward in holiness includes paying attention to those relationships. You may need to pause before answering sharply, acknowledge a hurtful response, or offer support when someone is struggling. Love does not make those choices without effort, but gives you a reason to make them. Ask Holy Spirit to help you respond with the family's well-being in view.
Today's Confession
I am a member of Christ’s body, and my choices affect others. With Holy Spirit’s help, I will walk in holiness, respond with kindness, and care for the people God has placed in my life. My words and actions will reflect His love and help strengthen His family.
5-Minute Journal Prompt
Which relationship could benefit from a more thoughtful response from you, and what would care for that person look like today?
Prayer Activation Exercise
Pray for one person in your prayer group or Christian community. Ask God to help you understand their needs and examine your attitude toward them. Offer encouragement, practical care, or an apology where appropriate.
