Day 1 of 7
Chosen, Sealed, and Joined to the Lord
From Glory to Glory: Carrying the Presence of God
Anchor Scriptures
Ephesians 1:3-4 (NIV)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
Devotional Reading
Before you prayed your first prayer or did anything for God, He had already set His heart on you. The Father chose you in Christ before the foundation of the world. You were not an afterthought. God desired a family formed in His image and likeness, and in Christ He made room for you in it.
The blessing He gives is more than a collection of benefits, because He gives His own Spirit. His love is shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost, and you have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. The one joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Your identity rests on what God has done, not on how you feel this morning or what your circumstances are saying.
Ordinary life has a way of pulling your attention elsewhere: laundry, deadlines, errands, bills. But daily responsibilities do not cancel who you are. The same Spirit who meets you in prayer is present while you work, shop, serve, and drive. Today, carry that awareness with you: you are a child of God, and He is with you.
Today's Confession
Father, thank You for choosing me in Christ before the foundation of the world. I am Your child, called by Your love. I am joined to the Lord and one spirit with Him. I am sealed with Your Holy Spirit, and Your love is poured into my heart. My identity rests on Your work, not on my feelings or my circumstances. Wherever I go today, You are with me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
5-Minute Journal Prompt
Where in your ordinary routine do you most often forget that God is with you? Write down that place or task. Then write one sentence about what would change if you walked into it remembering that you are His child and that His Spirit lives in you.
Prayer Activation Exercise
Choose one ordinary activity today, such as washing dishes, commuting to work, or attending a meeting. Before you begin, pause and say quietly, "Holy Spirit, You are here with me. I am Yours." Then do the task with your heart turned toward Him, thanking Him that you are chosen, sealed, and joined to the Lord.
