Day 5 of 7

The Glory You Carry

From Glory to Glory: Carrying the Presence of God

Anchor Scriptures

Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

Haggai 2:9 (KJV)

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

Devotional Reading

Arise and shine, for your light has come. The glory of the Lord once filled Solomon's temple so strongly that the priests could not stand to minister. Haggai promised that the glory of the latter house would be greater than that of the former, and that greater glory came when Jesus Himself entered the temple. God had come among His people in the person of Christ.

Through the new covenant, you now carry His indwelling presence. You are a living temple carrying the Shekinah glory, the manifest presence of God, and no religious structure or ritual can take the place of that presence. You may not realize how much you carry. A sincere smile toward a cashier can become a spiritual act when that person has not encountered kindness or hope for a long time, and Holy Spirit can use that simple expression of love to touch a heart He has already been preparing.

You do not need a dramatic feeling to offer a kind word or pray for someone in Jesus’ name. God can work through simple obedience, even when you see no immediate result. Trust Him with what you cannot see.

If others do not recognize God’s presence in your life, remember that many did not recognize His glory in Jesus either. Their recognition does not determine your faithfulness. Stay near to God and remain willing to share His love.

Today's Confession

Lord, I arise and shine because my light has come and Your glory is risen upon me. I am a living temple, and I carry Your presence into ordinary places. I do not depend on feelings or outward evidence; I trust You to work through simple obedience. Let Your presence bring light, mercy, and freedom to the people You are preparing. In Jesus' name, amen.

5-Minute Journal Prompt

Think about the ordinary encounters you are likely to have this week. Write down one or two people, such as someone at a store, a coworker, or a neighbor, and one simple way you can offer them kindness, a smile, or a brief prayer.

Prayer Activation Exercise

Before you leave home today, pray, "Holy Spirit, make me alert to the people You are preparing." Then watch for a moment to offer a sincere smile, a kind word, or, if the door opens, a brief prayer in Jesus' name. Afterward, thank God for whatever He did, whether or not you saw a result.
